Great site!
i am an army brat and went to elementary school right behind this consentration camp. My grandparents Edgid Krauss and Rosa Krauss have lived in Dachua for the majority of their lives.Edgid past away last year. thanks
I WOULD LIKE TO THANK YOU FOR SHARING WITH US YOUR PICTURES, NOTES AND ETC. I ONLY WISH THEY NEVER HAD TO HAPPEN. YOU HAVE MY SINCERE REGARDS. TAMMY BALES PS: THANK YOU FOR THE SITE. IT HAS GIVEN ME MORE INFO THAN I HAVE.
Die Homepage ist interressant, informativ und grausam!
In April, I will be heading to Germany, for my very first ever overseas trip and one of the places I wish to visit is Dachau. When someone was informed about that, she stated, "You could have picked a happier scenic site to visit." No, I don't think so. While I will see some beautiful sites in Germany, I still want to see the history. More than that, I want to remember the innocent lives that were lost, to see what they went through and to remember for the rest of my life, the Holocaust.
Visited Dachau for the very first time . never ever did I see or experienced being in any Concentration camp in person . It was very well presented and I was very grateful to have been able to have visited and experienced the native Germany in a way that had had not done when I used to ones live there some 30 years ago . It was a visit well worth and very educational . I recomend it to everyone , and not to miss the old beautyful town that goes with it . A sad , but yet lovely old Town too . Thank you Dachau . Rainer Lucks Adelaide - South Australia
We must not forget!
I discovered this web site while doing research for a college paper. I visited Dachua as an eight year old child over thirty years ago.Though I needed help with some of the actual description of what I saw, I will never forget the utter despair I felt so many years ago. I will never forget and will teach my children so they will know . Thank you
This is a great sight. I found it very informative.
Only Satan could inspire the minds of the Nazi murderers who commited these atrocities.
no olvidemos
I just finished looking through the memorial sites. I can't believe people could have realy done what they did there. Well i'm going to German y this year maybe I will stop to take a first hand look at Dachau.
The world must never forget what happened in this place.
this was a powerful web site for me to visit and it has left a profound impact on my soul. my prayers go out to all of you!
Interesting site. The Holocaust has always fascinated me.
Kompliment!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I visited Dachau in 1999 and was touched and deeply saddened by what I saw at the Concentration Camp. Who could not be? Our german guide of 26 years old apologized to me. What a sad legacy that Germany's children feel they must apologize to this day. You have an excellent web site. Thank you. Bless you all.
My wife and I visited Dachau in 1984 while I was on temporary duty with the Air Force and I was assigned at the Army base in Augsburg. I have been through and seen a lot of things in my life but seeing the films and pictures of what happened at Dachau was unreal. It is beyond me how any person or group of people could do what happened to another person.
Germany rules!!(next to america that is!)
Thanks for all your work! Our prayers are with you in your continued efforts.
Sehr schöne Seite viele Informationen Super gemacht Respekt
My neighbor has a most wonderful book printed and written by his own battalion and given to every serviceman in this group, all photos taken by these men, and the booklet printed complete with stories about the concentration camp at Dachau. I must say, that there is nothing that ever moved my soul as much as looking at this book, it is an original..and he has had it in his possession for all these years. I, too, shall NEVER FORGET...especially after looking at his book that is HIS ORIGINAL COPY, COMPLETE WITH PICTURES OF THE BOXCARS, THE CAMPS, THE BODIES.......AND THE MOST GRAPHIC AND MOVING THING I HAVE EVER SEEN IN MY LIFETIME.........! Truly enjoyed your site, as I have taken an interest in this myself and have printed out several items from your site for my own use. THANKS SO MUCH FOR ENLIGHTENING ME.... As a member of the 42nd "Rainbow" Infantry Division, I was at Dachau on that fateful day, April 29th, 1945, when the Concentration Camp was opened. I was a member of the 222nd Infantry Regiment's Anti-Tank Company. It was all too evident just how cruel men could be. The horror of that day will be with me forever. Now, in my 75th year, I cannot even imagine what led the Nazi's to perpetrate this horror on their fellow man!
This truely is an emotional place
My mother, Madeline Miller was a nurse during WWII. She was with the troops who liberated Dachau. She told me about the horrors she found there.

Nice webpage! :)~
I will be visiting Germany March 17-23 of 2000, for the first time. I toured this site to prepare myself for what I will see when I go to Dachau during my visit. God bless you for carrying on the legacy of the thousands of brave prisoners who died at the hands of such evil. We must refuse to tolerate racial discrimination - WE ARE ALL OF ONE RACE, THE HUMAN RACE.
I felt you gave a good history of the camp. It was very informative. My parents visited Dachau when my father was stationed in Munich.
Macht weiter so.
Thanx for all the great information! My school is learning about the Holocaust right now and i am really interested! Thanx again Michelle
My grand-daughter is doing a report on the concentration camps. I always help her with her projects. I am greatful for the knowledge you have presented on your web site. Hopefully her presentation will bring an understanding to the children in her 5th grade class. Thank-you M. Sloan
good info
People normally try not to see the bad in things or events so naturally they turn the other way. What if the United States were to have stopped this bloody-horrid massacre before too many lives were taken. (But when is too many lives?) It is bad enough that a single life had to be taken due to his/her faith... but it is worse to deny the fact that innocent people had to die because we did not want to get involved. If this was true the United States should ban ALL goverment authority(police...)back then and ignore the problems and events around them!!!
Hello. I am a fiction author who is working on a book in which Dachau plays an important role. I would dearly love to be able to interview you for the book. I do not speak or write German, but if we could set up a meeting in the US sometime in the near future I would be grateful. I am a professor of Developmental Education at South Piedmont Community College in Polkton, NC. Any and all assistance you could give me would be appreciated, and acknowledged upon publication. Thank you. Rebecca Dorsett
we feel really bad and we want to cry
I now can understand why there is so much hatred in our world today, the so called leaders of this world turned their backs or closed their eyes to these atrocities. It is no wonder why there is so much division, crimes against different cultures in the world, I would like to think that if it were me I would rather they drop an ICBM on top of my head rather than endure the tortures that I've read about. In an instance such as this, a human being or animal would welcome death, either by being shot, hung, electricuted or by their own hands! History such as this should alert everyone, that this is something that can never be allowed to happen again! I look at the Klu Klux Klan, the so called skin heads,(modern day NAZIS') and sometimes the Chicago police (Modern day GESTAPOS') and I immediately want to draw arms, because if this can happen once it can surely happen again and I would be the first to die for I will never allow myself to be treated so horribly, not without contemplating first taking my own life and trying to take the life of some person in command first. I would rather die standing than on my knees!
i like this entry
I am interested in the Nazi Party, the whole reason they killed. I did it for a project.
My wife and I visited the camp.We were very saddened by the whole thing.May God bless all of their poor souls.
I think it is great that there is a website just for remembering the Holocaust. I am greatly interested in the Holocaust and this web sit has helped me alot.Thanx.
I HAVE BEEN TO DACHAU AND IT WAS VERY TRADGIC FOR ME TO BE THERE. I AM NOW DOING A REPORT ON IT FOR HISTORY. IF YOU HAVE ANY OTHER INFO. PLEASE SEND IT TO ME. THANX
FOUND THE SITE VERY INFORMATIVE.SO MUCH I DID'NT KNOW
we visited dachau in 1978. we were very moved by the experience. now that we are older and find out more information it is even more moving. Our 12 year old is studying the holocaust in school right now and they have asked me to bring my pictures and talk to the class. I hope I can do it justice. God Bless- and "NEVER AGAIN" The Goforth's
I visited Dachau in 1978 and again in 1985.The powerful essence of this place has never left me. I base much of my life around the impact it had on me. I belive that no Human being is greater than another as a direct result of being there. Thank you for this powerful lesson.
i will be visiting dachau this summer in less than 65 days i am interested in finding out what i will be seeing when i get there.
Thank you for having this information available, lest we forget what happened, so we can prevent it from ever happening again.
So sad...I went on a tour of another concentration camp last week and I almost cried to see all the pictures and stuff from the concentration camp. I'm sure Dachau was just as bad. May the people rest in peace.
I feel partly responsible for my ancestors actions. But I know that I couldn't have stopped them because I wasn't even alive. I wish I understood why Hitler did what he did. Does anybody?
how sad who would want to do a thing like that
Hi, thanks for this great site.! It helped me with my report! I couldn't find anything on this camp!
This site was really good for the report that I had to do on Dachau. It made me feel as if I was there or something.
your site had a lot of erneresting stuff on it. we are lerrening about the holocaust. Do you believe in it?
I really like this site but I want pictures. Is there any way you can send me cool pictures for my class. This is for social studies and I just want them to see them. This is open to anybody who can help me find pictues on a concentration camp. THANK YOU JESSICA
Iam doing a resarch paper on Dachau concentration camp
Nie wieder soll so etwas passieren.Vergesst es niemals
i was on a tour of dachau in 1995.i was awed by the plight of the people who were put there.it was heart rendering.we can never let that happen again
I was stationed at Dachau in 1960/61,and lived on the post in the barracks occupied by the Germans during the war. I saw the Concentration Camp before it was torn down and the memorial built. It was a much more grusome sight then than now. However your website is good, and I find myself coming back to it frequently.
our vist to dachau moved my heart and touched my soul. god bless its restoration so that people may learn and remember the horror.
I recently had spoken with a family member of a survivor and I came to this site to found out more. This has given me a lot of information about atrocities so extreme that I can't even begin to imagine. This has touched me in a way that nothing else has. Bless you for making sure the world never forgets this tragedy. It is something to remind generations to come that this kind of thing will never be tolerated again. Thank you for your insight.
Thank you for a website that helps me come to terms with what my mother endured. She was interned in Dachau twice. She was able to visit a few years ago on a tour associated with the schonstadt priests that were interned there during the war. I just wish i could tell all young people in the world that still care, "if we forget history, were bound to relive it" I pray that our youth learn from the mistakes of the past.
HEAVY SITE
when i was a teen-ager i visited dachau..to this day i wonder how could a human being be so cruel to his fellow human..i am interested in learning more about camps..not out of disrespect but curiosity as a human..god bless all those who lived this tragedy and to their families..my heart goes out to each individual..
This is awesome!!!!
We visited Dachau on June 14th, 2000. We were very moved by what we saw. This is a great reminder for us to never repeat the past and look to the future. Most important, never forget those who were there, and those who didn't make it back home. I know we will never forget. Thank You Brent & Cindy Biederman
very thorough presentation. I was stationed in Dachau when the camp was used to house 15,000 SS troops. This was in 1946 when I was in the US Army. I have been sudying Dachau ever since then and your information is among the most accurate and extensive that I have come across. Thank you.
Thank you for making this a memorial to all those inocent people that suffered
awesome!!!!!!i'm doing an assignment on German concentration camps and this site was a major help thank you
I think all your historical facts and photos are very interesting and i enjoy learning more and more about our past history and i glad that you were able to provide me with all the information you have thanx
I was a guard at the 1946 Flossenberg trial at Dachau. Do you have any info on the outcome of the trial? The chief prosecutor was Col. William Denson whom, I think, passed away about a year ago. He did not write anything about the trial. Thanks
PELLETIER YVON
My grandfather was a pow at dachau during the war in germany. His name was Paul Alexander Jung, he was a business man in Glatz at the time. Since he did not side with Hitler they put him in the camp. This is what my father has always told me. I am just trying to find out whatever I can for my children about the roots of the family. I want to keep the family history known and alive here, since my father is the only one who left Germany for the USA.
Danke!
i visited Dachau five years ago with my family. It was one of the most moving experiences of my life. I am now a middle school teacher and include my visit to Dachau in my tolerance unit.
I visited Dachau in Oct 1965 with my husband and friends. We were all stationed in Germany at the time. When we left there we were silent for a long time. We had read about the camps, but seeing was beleiving. I really don't think a lot of people realize how unspeakable this place was. The human suffering was unbeleivable. I pray to God this never ever happens again. And all the Nazi SS who were involved are suffering twice as much in Hell.
I visited Dachau five years ago when my wife and I toured Europe. It was a very haunting experience. This site is very informative.
Im very interested in the holocaust but I don't think Hitler should have been obeyed. It just was'nt right
In 1974 I visited Dachau while visiting with my sister in Germany. I have never forgotten what I saw there. It made a lasting impression on an 18 year old and I have told my children about it. It is up to us to rid this world of the hatered and discrimnation that led to the concentration camps.
I have visited in person, in 1979. Thank you for a virtual trip back.

I think this sight could be better if u would have more pictures, but the writing was GREAT!!!
My heart aches for the poor men, women and children who lost their lives to such causes as Hitlers orders. I pray for all their souls and know God is with them today. I can not believe that any creation of God could do such things to another creation of God as was done to the Jewish population. Those who caused the pain and death will pay on the great judgement day when they stand befor God and are judged for what they did. Then they will BURN as the burned.Bitter tears burn my eyes as I look and read the horrifing things these people endured for one imortal person.
LOVED YOUR SITE. LOOKING FOR INFO. ON MY GRANDFATHER, PAUL GERSON AND FAMILY. I HAVE TO LEARN NOW WHAT I WAS DENIED GROWING UP. THANK YOU, RENEE MOUGIN
When I was about 10 my parents took myself and my sibling to Dachau. That is a place that I will never forget.
Your website captures the feeling of being at the memorial. I was there 3 years ago. I will never forget it.
I was there in June of 1993, it is a very touching and very sad place. If I ever get to Germany again, I will certainaly make it a point to be in that part of the country to pay my respects.
Lest we forget the terrible past. Moving visit to man's inglorious past. How could 'we' have done all this? Though even God cannot change history, we can atleast learn that we should not create such history that our children will be ashamed to remember it.
This was our first trip to europe sept2000 we visited the camp and took the tour. It really hit home what it was like for the people in the camp. The tour was very informative and we had a very good time.Thank you
This is the best.
In 1945 in Tarcento,Italy I was a gaurd in our P.O.W.camp of approximately 250 Germans. These prisoners were treated very good, some had chores but they were never abused. Some of them spoke English and seemed to get along well.I wish now that I got some of their names.I visited the Dauchau camp in 1972 and wondered if any of the prisoners that I met had visited there and what their thoughts were?
My Sister-in-law's Father. Mr Maka, from Maastricht, who was in the dutch Underground, was captured, and died in Dachau. I wonder where I can see his Name amoung the Victims,. Sincerely, Seamus Fogarty in Baltimore.
this is a good site.. send me more info on it..
Fernando Iribarren D.N.I. 24658568
I will be visiting Germany (Munich and Augsburg) on the 22 of November. I have very limited time but I teach in the United States and always cover the Diary of Anne Frank. I am very interested in visiting Dachau. My only question is the way to get their. We are staying at the Parkhotel in AUgsburg . Should I take a train (is it possible) or should I rent a car. Again I have limited time.
Good Website!!!
cool site!!!!
I HAVE RECENTLY VISITED tHE CONCENTRATION CAMP IN DACHAU AND I WANT TO KNOW IF YOU COULD KINDLY SEND ME SOME OF YOUR BROCHURES FOR A PROJECT. I ALSO WANT TO KNOW IF THERE IS ANY GREAT BOOKS ON ALL THE CONCENTRATION CAMPS THAT I COULD READ ABOUT BECAUSE I AM SO VERY INTRESTED IN THIS TOPIC. THANK YOU KINDLY I WILL BE WAITING FOR YOU TO WRITE BACK. KRISTINA RIBEIRO
Danke! I was in Germany with my German class summer of 2000, and one day we went to Dachau. I thought it was a extremely interesting. I felt love, hate, compation, sorrow. Dachau has been the first place that I have been to where I learned a lot about what happened in Germany. That is all I wanted to say
What happened in these concentration camps makes me sick to my stomach. How could anybody be so heartless and Cold to be able to do something like that.
Hello, I visited the Dachau Memorial in 1990, and was so glad to find this wonderful site so that i could refresh myself as to what the pics were i took and put them in an album so I can share my experience and feelings of my visit.
i thought that your page was quite exquisite.
Please include many pictures with every report
A great site! Very informative.
I visited Dachau in 1980. I was only 13 years old.I will never forget. That much I promise.
I have learned about they concentration camps and WWII in school, and have seen slides of Dachua in my art class. My teacher has explained to us how horrid her visit was to Dachua. The way she expained it had such an impact on me, I felt so bad for the people who had to suffer during that time. Now I am writing a reserch paper on world history, and have decided to write my paper on WWII, and the concentration camps. This was an amazing web site to journey through.
this is great that you have made a sight for people to look back and learn about what really happened in the horrifying concentration camps this sight is really educational.
This is a very neat thing you have going on here. I would LOVE to learn more about Dachau! Please send me and Dooby info ASAP!!!!
